洋書・児童書です。アメリカの小学３年生の男の子マーヴィンは、クラスの女の子から「ひじにキスすると性別が変わる」という話を聞きます。気になったマーヴィンはこっそりやってみようとしますが、なかなか届きません。何度もチャレンジし、遂にひじにキスできたと思いました。すると自分が女の子になった気がだんだんしてきます。
特にマーヴィンは女の子は髪型や服装などファッションを色々楽しめて良いなと思っていました。男の子・女の子の利点と思われる事柄があったりしますね。
