You and Aaron are to take a census of the people of Israel by clans and families. (Numbers 1:2)

イスラエル人の部族のうち、相続地を受け継ぐ娘はみな、その父の部族に属する氏族のひとりにとつがなければならない。イスラエル人が、おのおのその父祖の相続地を受け継ぐためである。(民数 36:8)

結婚によって、他の部族に相続地が取られることのないように定められました。

それをあなたがたのために、のがれの町とし、あやまって人を打ち殺した殺人者がそこにのがれることができるようにしなければならない。(民数 35:11)

故意の殺人でない場合は、のがれの町にのがれることができました。

あなたがたがカナンの地に入るとき、あなたがたの相続地となる国、カナンの地の境界は次のとおりである。(民数 34:2)

神様はカナンの地の東西南北の境界線をはっきりと示されました。

あなたがたがヨルダンを渡ってカナンの地に入るときには、その地の住民をことごとくあなたがたの前から追い払い、彼らの石像をすべて粉砕し、彼らの鋳像をすべて粉砕し、彼らの高き所をみな、こぼたなければならない。(民数 33:51-52)

邪悪なカナン人とかかわわることや、偶像礼拝の場所を残しておくことは許されません。
